Improvement

Postby Bomo on Tue Aug 05, 2008 4:02 pm

Although the beach is lovely, I do think that the rest of the area needs some work! Get rid of the crazy golf and put something better there. Possible suggestions include an classy, yet affordable beach cafe/restaurant (for those of us who cannot afford to eat at Shore Cafe all the time!), beach shops etc. It is such a shame that there are still some very old and very uncared for houses along the peninsula. Maybe the council or a private investor (more likely) sure think about buying these properties for possible business ventures to give a little more diversity to the area. What do others think?

I wonder how popluar the Crazy Golf is :?:
I have visited Sandbanks a fair few times over the past but havnt seen the Crazy golf getting used much :?
Its a great beach though and I can understand why Sandbanks is one of the top if not the top beach in the UK :)

As for putting something else in the Crazy Golf coarse`s place, I have know idea, but your sugestion of a more affordable beach cafe/restaurant sounds an interesting one :)

Sandbanks Crazy Golf

Postby mick on Thu Sep 04, 2008 10:08 am

I don't understand where you guys are coming from, the Crazy Golf at Sandbanks is absolutely brilliant, the best in the UK, and I've played a few!

I agree that the area in general could do with more facilities in terms of shops and cafes/restaurants, but don't take away the one thing that gives so much pleasure to at lot of people. When I was there last week it was completely full, with happy smiling people, having fun.

Try it yourself sometime, see what your missing! (By the way, there's a putting green next to it for golfing purists, it's got a really well cared for surface, and there aren't many of those around these days).

Hello and welcome MICK,
my quote was ...
Yes I have noticed that I have been down the beach a few times this summer and havnt seen it active at all

I am not saying its a bad thing, What I mean to say is that I visited Sandbanks around 5 times this summer and each time the Crazy golf wasnt even open :?I just thought it would have been open more over the summer months.
I can imagine it being very popular when its actually open.

Cheers

Hello again mrix

You must have visited the Crazy Golf at Sandbanks rather early in the morning.

It has been open every day this Summer, from 10.00am until the early evening, seven days a week.

There's a rally charming girl working there, called Chloe, I strongly recommend that you give it a try, and have a nice chat with her too!
